Rob Middleton organised a successful Leaders weekend in the yorkshire dales. 11 Leaders and potential leaders attended the event. Saturday saw us at the Ingleton Wall covering, ladder rescue, hauling tired caver and assisted handline. Leaders then spend the afternoon investigating caves they hadn’t led trips in for potential hazards and to familiarise themselves with the location of the entrances. Potential fresher scenarios were discussed.
The water levels were particularly high this weekend, which meant that leaders got to see high water conditions and most found this to be useful.
Saturday evening started with a caving quiz, and was followed by a very lively discussion on near misses and leader briefings.
An excellent way to start the round of fresher trips, for leaders.
