The main purpose of this trip to Northern Spain was to go through the system of Cueto-Coventosa. We also did some exploration work in the area with South Wales Caving Club and the Matienzo project.
1998 saw a large group from SUSS travel out to France near Grenoble. Here we went down the Goufre Berger. This massive cave was the first in the world to be explored to a depth of greater than one kilometer vertical depth.
In 1996 we planned to go exploring in Turkey. Various things happened and the eventual team consisted of just three people. Plans were changed and the bold trio had some interesting adventures in the middle of nowhere.
