On the second particularly nice day of the year and me and sam ended up doing much the same as the first. Digging in Carlswark. This time we had Creg and Rachael to accompany us, 2 digging virgins unaware of what was in store. The aim of this trip was to make use of the pump lent to us by James Rhodes and turn the dig from a puddle (soon to be sump) into more of a chocolate milkshake / nutella type affair. We managed this after a lot of pumping and proceeded to add another foot or two in distance to the end of the dig. All in all fairly successful before an early departure for a pint in the Miners Arms before heading for home. Hopefully one of the two freshers (ahem) will also share their first experience of digging.
